Your First Visit

 
During your first visit, also known as the "initial examination", Dr. Wood will evaluate your occlusion to determine how orthodontics can be beneficial in improving your overall dental health. Your first visit is easy, painless, and takes place in a friendly, safe and professional environment. There is no charge for your initial examination unless x-rays are taken in order to obtain further information.

Your first visit does not always lead to immediate treatment. Sometimes it is more beneficial to wait and treat the existing or developing problem at a more appropriate time. This will assist in obtaining the maximum amount of improvement with the least amount of time in braces.

During your visit, Dr. Wood will give you an estimated treatment time and fee, and any treatment options that might be available for your particular needs. The actual cost and length of treatment varies from patient to patient depending upon the complexity of the malocclusion. These will be determined after further evaluation of the diagnostic records and development of a corrective treatment plan.

Diagnostic records involve several different types of x-rays, making molds of the teeth, taking photographs, and obtaining other necessary information in order to determine the best treatment plan to correct your or your child's specific orthodontic problem.

Dr. Wood and his Staff will be happy to take the time needed to answer all your questions and address any concerns that you might have about orthodontics and the type of treatment needed. He can also demonstrate any special type of appliances that you or your child might need to wear in order to obtain the best possible result.
