About Dr. Wood

Dr. Wood was born and raised in Fort Worth and attended college at Auburn University in Alabama. While attending Auburn, Dr. Wood was a seven time NCAA Division 1 All-American in swimming, was voted Athlete of the Year for swimming, had numerous world rankings and several national records. He earned his Bachelor's of Science in Psychology in 1982.

 

Next, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia in 1991. At the completion of his training he was elected as a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society  and graduated Magna Cum Laude (with high honors).

 

He continued his education at the University of Maryland at Baltimore with three years of specialty training in orthodontics. He continued an additional year to obtain his Masters of Science (MS) in Oral Biology.

 
Dr. Wood has been a licensed dentist in Texas since 1991 and enjoys being an active member in the Weatherford community.  He has been a volunteer for Big Brothers- Sisters and served on the Board of Directors for the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves with the Weatherford Rotary Club.

 

His hobbies include triathlons, fly-fishing, hiking, and volunteering.
